Harp made after James McFall, Belfast 1902. Tara, the former name for
Temair in the province of Meath was the legendary King´s Castle of the
island of Erinn. Changing from one key to another is performed using mechanisms made of cast bronze, which are absolutely pure in tone and gentle on the strings. This Irish harp offers the ideal instrument for concert soloists, high-standard ensemble music and artistic improvisation. 35 strings, ranging from Contra-A to g3 |

What makes a good harp? For all my instruments I
use carefully selected and well-stored grained woods suitable for instruments.
Their sturdy growth on barren, rocky ground together with the raw mountain
climate attributes an excellent, stable tone to the instruments and ensures
optimum transmission of resonance. And due to the careful preparation
of the sound box and resonance board made after the light weight lute,
this harp develops its own typical Irish sound.

The bright, radiant sound of this light-weight harp reminds us of the former magic from the days of King Arthur. As with this harp, I fall back on reliable wood joints with all my instruments, the kind of joints which could be found earlier with every masterpiece by good craftsmen, but which nowadays can no longer be taken for granted. A stable mortise and tenon wood joint guarantees a tight and lasting fit for the supporting wooden parts - something essential in the case of a transportable Irish harp that is always on the move. 31 strings ranging from E-flat
to g3, weighing merely 6.5 kg. |

This harp, a lap-harp or bard-harp was made for all those who don´t set off on a journey without taking along their instrument. Its shape follows that of the Irish Clairséach. Especially with small instruments it is essential they produce a clear tone and are full-sounding. During the design stage and when making the instruments, I think time and again of ways to make improvements or develop further or anew. This process has led in the course of the years to the making of numerous small harps producing a bright, rich tone. This harp is particularly suitable for those starting with elementary music and as an accompanying instrument for songs and storytelling. 22 or 26 strings as desired.
